Office Hours App
Product Design · Office Hours
Office Hours is an iOS product for peer learning. It pairs mentors and students in booked sessions and replaces the long scheduling thread with one screen. The product's whole premise is removing friction between two people who already want to talk.
Booking a session meant a long email thread to schedule one hour, and every message in that thread was a chance for someone to give up. The product existed to remove friction between two people who already wanted to talk. Hired as product designer to own the flows where that promise lives or dies: booking, sessions, and the in-app identity.
Shaped booking around how sessions actually run rather than fixed calendar slots: a mentor's availability reads as inventory, the student picks from what exists instead of proposing times into a void, and the confirmation is the booking, not a message about one. Kept the system iOS-native so the app feels like the phone rather than a website wearing a phone costume. Every screen was designed against the real competitor, which was never another app, it was writing one more email.
Booking shaped around natural session arcs, not slots. Sessions interface treats a mentor's time as inventory. Confirmation is the booking itself, not a message about one. iOS-native typography, zero custom font load.
